This fully vegetable tanned cowhide is produced using traditional methods and has a beautiful, smooth surface with a slight lustre / shine. It is drum dyed using semi-aniline dyes for beautiful deep colour with a very clean and uniform surface. It will age and patina slowly due to its full vegetable tannage but its surface treatment will prevent it from aging and scratching too quickly and easily.

About The Tannery

Conceria Il Ponte SRL has been on the market since 1961 and draws its name from the historic Medici bridge, the symbol of Ponte a Cappiano, a village in the province of Florence, where the tannery is located. The tannery has always produced vegetable tanned leather, a niche product that has allowed the company to be positioned in the segment of precious leather. Their leather are perfectly suited for, leather goods, bags and belts.

Conceria Il Ponte SLR is one of the 22 tanneries that takes part of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale - tanneries jointed by the production of vegetable tanned leather. This part of Tuscany between the provinces of Florence and Pisa represents the only Italian district of high-quality vegetable tanned leather, a very ancient work that uses only wood extracts for the process of tanning.
